Faith still has thrush. I'm sick of it! She's had it for 6 weeks now! It's one persistent beast! I'm tired of dipping everything in vinegar. I'm tired of forcing medicine in her adorable little mouth. I'm tired of watching her try to feed while I know she's in pain. She's been through 3 doses of Nystatin now, and although it seemed to have gotten rid of the stuff, it's back. Her mouth isn't completely snow white, as it was many weeks ago, but the white dots are returning... and so has her pain.
I called the doctor Monday morning, hoping that there was something stronger to give her. Something that would work faster. But the nurse said the only other option was swabbing Gentian Violet in her mouth. The good news it's just $2 and we didn't need a prescription. The bad news... my gorgeous little girl...
...who just started smiling all the time...

...is now purple. But still gorgeous and adorable! And a little silly, too :)

She may be stained purple. And her purple drool may be staining her clothes... (I took these pictures before the drool started...) But it hasn't stopped her from smiling at her big brother!

... or stopped her from cuddling from with her Daddy, either!

My little girl is pretty in purple!

Remember to use bibs to protect her clothes. This stains will usually come out if they are treated pretty quickly. In order to prevent her lips from being stained, put some vaseline on them before you give her the medication.
She is absolutely adorable in any color, and the purple just brings more attention to how cute she is.
Can't wait to see you all this weekend.
Hey Kim! We had the same problem when Whit was a tiny, tiny baby! The Nystatin was disgusting and did nothing for us, either. The Gentian Violet worked like a charm!!! Good luck!
