Faith turned 5 months old last week. I know, I failed to post about it. Bad mom. Bad mom. Oh well ;-)
So let me tell you all about our little 5 month old princess!
She weighs 18lb.
She's 26 1/4 inches tall.
She's wearing sizes 6-9 months now. Her torso is so long that she's outgrown almost all her 3-6 month shirts and dresses. But she still fits 3-6 month pants (when not wearing a cloth diaper). The dress that she's wearing in the picture above is a 9 month dress - and it fits her great. It looks longer than it is, because of the way she's standing. But her Easter dress... its a 6 month dress... and is now too short! Oh well. It was a gamble when I bought it at a consignment sale last fall. But Granny is coming to the rescue and getting Faith an entire new Easter outfit - I can't wait to see it :)
Faith's moving around a lot, too. She's always been a major wiggiler - from the moment I started feeling her inside of me. She wiggles her way around on the floor pretty well now. I expect she'll figure out an army crawl or other way to start crawling pretty soon. Nathan did the "croll" first, and he was this age when he started that. However, Faith has a different method - she just wiggles her legs wildly until she gets where she wants to be.
How much does she eat? She's still not a big fan of rice cereal. But she's doing so well on breastmilk and formula, that I'm not in a terrible hurry to get her on solids (yes! I'm still making breastmilk - big victory!!). Faith still just wants 6oz at a time, sometimes 7. Never 8. And she eats 6 times a day - but shes not a big morning eater. Such a difference from what her big brother was like! He ate all the time and practically chugged 8 (sometimes 10) ounces at a time! Maybe thats why shes at least 2-3 pounds likghter than he was at this time.
How does she sleep? Lately she sleeps through the night at least once, if not more, a week. YAY!! I'm still working on getting her to fall asleep on her own. But often she needs to be held just so she can relax and start to let herself drift off. Then she can put herself to sleep.
And she's still teething - but no sign of the first tooth yet. Chewing on a toy is her favorite past time though.
Then there's her big brother. He's starting to get jealous now that his sister wants to play with toys. He likes to steal them from her - only to leave them out of her reach and grab something else to play with himself. And it's not just toys he likes to steal. He likes to steal her spotlight and attention, too. See:
He LOVES having his picture taken, and tries to get in every shot - even when his sister is the one having her photo taken. We're so blessed to have 2 wonderful children! God has blessed us more than we could have ever imagined and I look forward to the smiles and laughter they provide us with every day :)
