Guess what Daddy was?? A giraffe Daddy of course! Jacob was a great sport - so willing to dress up with his family in front of all his Sunday School class and church :) And Nathan loved to see his Daddy dressed up so silly!
Guess what Mommy was? No, not a giraffe. I thought about being a zoo keeper. But Jacob has just as much a right to be that, too. After all our home is a zoo half the time. So what else goes with giraffes that come two by two?? Noah of course! I never did find our ark... good thing it didn't rain!
Everyone loved the boys as giraffes. But unless I was with them, few people knew who I was. I had guesses from Moses, Father Time, Gandoff, someone from Harry Potter... It was kind of fun though, few people knew who I was under the costume. Until I spoke. One little 3 year old asked over and over again on Wednesday night (I dressed up for Awana, too) "Why is God here?" It's church. God is allowed at church (hopefully). But I'm not God.

Maybe I should have worn a sign that said "free boat rides" or something to better clue people in. I thought about making one but just didn't have time. I had fun making the actual costume though. I was pretty proud of my work. I didn't make Nathan or Jacob's... but I had enough fun making my own that maybe I might try my hat at something for Nathan next year ;) Here's a better picture of my costume, with some other Awana workers on Wednesday night:
