Nathan is growing stronger and bigger everyday! Three milestones are getting closer:
1... today he weighs 19lbs and he's still about 26 inches long. That's almost 20 lbs!
2... Thursday night, Nathan slept for 8 hours straight! Then Friday night, he went 9 hours! At 6am, Jacob & I were stunned that the other person hadn't been up with him before that. Needless to say, we were excited that maybe this was a new norm. I decided not to get too excited till he did it for 3 nights in a row. So of course, Saturday night he was up every 3-4 hours. And last night, 3 times. But it gives us hope that sleeping through the night every night is getting closer!
3... This morning, Nathan began to really discover that he has control of his hands! Slowly over the last week he seems to be starting to understand. And he's not there completely yet, but he is close. Here's a video... Right before I turned on the camera, he moved the toy all the way to the other side and smiled... Share in our excitement over little things as you watch him continuing to discover that those hands he loves to suck on belong to him and he can control them.
So...grandparents...aunts...uncles...etc: Does all this make you miss/want to meet Nathan all the more? Then I have a story to help make you thankful he's not with you today.
It was time to change his mid-morning diaper. A wet one. I took it off and out came...thbbbbbt... green cottage cheese. Yumm... I let him continue, as I let the old diaper catch it. That's when I was reminded of a little lesson in anatomy. The muscles that push out goop also push out wet stuff. Uh huh... sprinkler time! That's the first time in over a month that he's surprised me like that. I caught it and he stopped. Then out comes more cottage cheese with a grunt and, surprise, another fountain. I covered him, he stopped, I cleaned up down below - thinking surely now I'm safe. Nope. Another gusher. I let it go... we're both covered by this point, so whats the harm...? Now it's bath time. Not on my schedule for the morning... but oh well. We get all clean and smelling great, put on a new diaper... and... guess what? Nope, not what you're thinking. Other end this time. Blaaaaaaaaah. All over his clean tummy. So we clean up, get dressed, sit up... and... blllllllaaaaaah. All over his clean clothes. So we change and head to work. Nothing like a 45 min diaper change... Well at work, he's sitting on my lap and all of the sudden there's a warm sensation through my pants... yup... pee. On me. Wonderful. At least he had a change of clothes... Still miss Nathan? :-D

Is this little (oops, sorry ... big) baby eating whipped cream at every feeding? Holy cow -- 19 lbs. I'm going to have to look in your baby book and see what you weighed at 3 months. I'm thinking that you weighed 20 lbs when you were 10 months old. I bought a 9-month outfit for him, thinking that it would fit at Thanksgiving. I have a feeling I better send it in the mail now.
You know one day he is going to love you for sharing these stories as he gets older...lol... I bet he is still cute w/ all that stuff coming out of him.. I do have to say yeah Nathan for getting his mom back for me... Nothing like some green slime!!!!!!!lolololololol
