Baby's Coming!

Just a short note to share that our baby will (probably) arrive tomorrow, Friday, the 16th! Yikes!

What's the plan???

Baby is still breech. So my OB wants to do an external version (where they manually turn the baby from the outside.... ouch!). But because of how much amniotic fluid I have this time around, there's little chance that baby will stay head down. I refuse to go through the external version unless the doctors can induce immediately after a successful version. My OB would prefer to do that at 39 weeks (the 23rd), but she doesn't believe that I will still be pregnant then... she's confident that baby is coming early. And she says it's safe to induce tomorrow - at 38 weeks. Baby is supposedly just over 7lbs and healthy.

We've weighed the options, pros and cons. And prayed. Lots. And feel completely at peace with the decision to go ahead with the external version tomorrow. And if successful, immediately induce labor. My doctor is confident it will be successful; the amount of fluid I have makes it easy for baby to turn. But that, by no means, means there won't be any pain for me. So please pray it's as painless as possible!!

And pray that there are no complications, which would result in an emergency c-section. Complications could includ things like baby not tolerating the stress (heart rate stopping or racing), or the placenta being ripped from the uterus, causing bleeding and threatening mine & baby's lives.

Pray I get to have a normal birth, and that she comes as quick (or quicker) than Faith did. And that they'll let us go home on Saturday (though I expect I won't be released till Sunday... but I can hope!)

Pray that baby is healthy and thrives even though she's coming early. (37 weeks is considered full-term, so this isn't too early... Nathan was just 38 weeks, too).

Pray for the kids (who will spend the day at a friend's tomorrow) and for Jacob as they adjust and have a busy weekend traveling to and from the hospital, most likely a couple times a day.

Pray for us all as we adjust!

And pray for continued peace for me in the decision we've made - that I sleep well tonight and everything goes as smooth as possible tomorrow.

Thank you all for your prayers and excitement. We look forward to (hopefully) getting to introduce baby #3 tomorrow evening. And hopefully she'll have a name, too :)
