Oh Christmas Tree

Last night we set up and decorated our Christmas tree. We've actually had it since Sunday, sitting in the garage. But the week has been so darn busy that last night was our fist chance to set it up and decorate it. The kids had a BLAST!

And I enjoyed a chance to get to try some more trial & error learning on my new camera... I've been trying to learn to take pictures without the flash, sometimes I guess right. Sometimes I miss. So last night I still used the flash a bit.

Nathan & Faith opened their ornaments from Granny & Pa.
Nathan got a bear holding a train - I'd say that's about perfect for him :)

And Faith got a bear holding a plate of cookies. Another perfect fit ;-)
Friday evening, Faith was looking at the tree and said the "cookie bear" was her favorite ornament. At first, I thought she meant a little stuffed bear ornament that has been Jacob's since he was litle. Then this photo reminded me... she remembers her ornament from Granny & Pa - and it is her favorite :)  How is it my memory is worse than a 2 year olds?? I'm in trouble... lol

The kids enjoyed hanging ornaments on the tree.

Though Daddy did most of that work.
And the kids had a great time helping!

When it was time for the tree topper, Nathan got a lift from Daddy.

And then it was time for the Christmas dance party!
The kids were so hyper and had a great time being silly with their hats and the Christmas music.

As I mentioned above... I'm still learning to take photos without the flash... But I figured the blurred kids might give you a good sense of how silly and wild they were. After all, it was well past bedtime and they were having a great time!

There's our decorated tree. With presents wrapped and ready for Christmas. We gotta be ready, you know... no one knows when our world will get turned upside down as baby no-name arrives. We still have a little more to do... Faith's big gift needs some more work and paint. We're making her a kitchen set - it's going to be soooo cute. Oh, and when I say "we", I mean Jacob ;-).  And we need to get Nathan one more gift... we'd planned to get him cowboy boots, because he seems to be jealous for Daddy's and Faith's boots. But tonight when we tried some on, he let us know he doesn't like them. So now we have to figure out what else a three year old boy would like... he says he wants ketchup. Maybe we'll get him a Sam's size container. LOL

It was a great family night last night as we laughed and decorated the tree. And the kids love to look at it, knowing they helped make it pretty. So far, so good - nothing has broke and the presents are still in one piece ;-)

So is your tree up yet??
