Smiling

Thank you to those who gave me a paper! I got a couple copies of his birth announcement now - yeah!

Nathan started smiling more today (technically yesterday, since it is 2am). I tried really hard to get it on camera, but everytime I stuck the camera in his face, he stared at it and wouldn't smile. He wasn't smiling everytime I tried to get him to, but would after about a minute of trying, and kept doing so over the course of the morning while he was wide awake. It was great. I'll have to get Jacob to help next time, he can hold the camera behind me and maybe then Nathan will smile for the camera :)

No pictures today of smiling or not. Camera batteries are dead. Sorry! We'll take some later in the week when Gramma & Grandpa Taylor are visiting from MD.

The last couple days have been good ones though. Tuesday night Nathan boycotted sleep. But he'd also slept most of the afternoon, which was a mistake and hopefully I don't let it happen again. Even though he went to bed late, he was still early to rise. I stayed home while he was awake and just when it seemed like he was ready for a nap, I put him in the car seat. He fell asleep in that - I went to work - and he stayed asleep for 3 1/2 hours. They were productive hours. And when he woke, he was still in a great and content mood. I got quite a bit done at work. Now we just need to find a schedule and stick with it.

Awana kicked off Wednesday night too. And that went really well. We had plenty of first night kinks to work through, but thats to be expected. We also found out that we need a 5th Cubbies class!! There's LOTS of 4 year olds! And although we still need more help with Cubbies, so many new and returning volunteers have really stepped up to serve with Awana. I was watching volunteers in the CLC as dismissal began. They were buzzing everywhere - and everyone seemed to know what they were doing (hopefully they did at least). I just smiled as I watched so many people who were willing and excited to be there, leading kids to learn about and grow in our Lord. God is going to do great things this year - He's already started by bringing such an amazing team of people together. Now if we could just get that many volunteers helping with SS too :)

Well, Nathan is asleep, I'm going to go do the same. Good night! We'll get new camera batteries and post some pics & maybe a video of Nathan smiling soon.
