Down on the Farm with Granny & Pa!

This past Mother's Day weekend we went up to Ohio to visit with Granny & Pa (Jacob's parents). Nathan had never been to Ohio... well... while outside his mommy that is. :) And he'd never had an 11 hour car ride either! One turned out to be a blast... the other not so fun... I'll bet you can guess which was which.

We drove up Thursday after work and arrived to surprise Granny at 5:30am on Friday. She was surprised - for the most part, but she'd caught on to Jacob's plan and expected us... Just not that early. We had breakfast then off to bed for a bit before starting one great weekend at their house! Here are just some of the highlights from our visit. I'll post more blog entries soon. There are LOTS of pictures and stories to share :)

Good Morning, Granny! SURPRISE! Guess who's come to visit!?!


Nathan loved playing ball with his Daddy & Pa in the living room!


Mommy got to learn to drive a skid steer!


Nathan got to learn to ride a tractor!


Pa got to learn to change a dirty diaper!


And Granny got to learn some of Nathan's silly faces!


Then Nathan got to see Uncle Teddy's silly faces!


Nathan liked his Great Uncle Teddy! And the pet mouse that lives above his upper lip, or so Jacob called it.


Nathan met the horses - Amber, Mr. B, Belle & Spring.


He even met the cows - Beauford & Oxford. Maybe one day he'll get to taste them, too... :)


But riding a cow wasn't Nathan's thing...


He loved Freckles, the dog, though!


Especially when Freckles flew!


And he was in awe of everything & everyone in the barn!


Then there was bathtime... oh that faucet tasted good!


Especially when water came out!


Who needs a sippy cup when you have Granny's kitchen sink?!?!


There were more tractor rides with Pa.


And plenty of time to explore their property!


And explore some more!


What fun it is to have Daddy around 24/7!


Daddy even taught Nathan to drive one of the tractors!


And one more great thing about being a grandchild... you get to do what Daddy was never allowed to do... play in the hay! What fun it is to be at Granny & Pa's!

We had a great weekend at Pa & Granny's! So many new things! So much to discover! So much fun to be had!
