So what's the story?
Jacob interviewed at a company called Terracon. He came home from his 2 day interview and didn't stop smiling. At least until he tried to blow-up the back yard... and his own face. But that's another story.
He fell in love with the company, the job and the resources they have available. The opportunities to grow are limit-less. And they take such great care of their employees. It's a dream job. Except for it's location. But Texas is where the economy is booming right now, at least in Jacob's industry. And they have over a hundred other locations nation-wide, so there's always potential to transfer else-where one day in the future.
What does the family think of this???
Faith - she just looks up at her Daddy, bats her long eyelashes and makes it known that she'll follow him anywhere ;-)
Nathan - when we asked him, he said "k". But then again he'll say "k" if you ask him to eat broccoli or lick the toilet. So I don't put too much weight on his opinion.
Kim - trying to remain calm and unstressed... and God is doing an amazing job at keeping me clamer than I could ever begin to do on my own! I'm busy looking for movers (to pack us, too!), passing off her coupon class business & webpage to other local couponers (just days after such a great article in the paper brought it tons of attention... figures). And trying to get ready for one massive moving sale - May 15th, 7am-12pm. Come buy our junk!! Theres lots of great junk ;-) Other than that, I think I'm in denial about Texas. It'll hit me in a month. But I told Jacob - and meant it - I'll follow him anywhere and support him in anything he feels God calls us to do. There's no doubt God is in this, and I look forward to seeing the bigger picture of what He's doing right now.
Jacob - he's still beaming and giddy. Having no trouble sleeping and acting as my rock and encourager. He's excited to have greater responsibility, limit-less opportunities, bigger projects, incredible resources and even educational benefits to get his masters degree. But the REAL reason he wants to move to San Antonio???? THIS IS WHY:
A 3 pound cinnamon roll! They sell them at a little place called Lulu's Bakery... and I have a feeling he'll hit that place up within the first 24 hours of arriving in San Antonio. He's already drooling.
Then there's Gidget, the cat - she just threw up on the stairs. I guess that tells you what she thinks.
So what are our plans??
They're not all nailed down yet, a lot of plans depend on what will happen Monday & Tuesday this week. I know enough to say that Jacob will drive out sometime around May 20th. It's an 18 hour drive, but he'll do it in 2 days (hopefully!). If we don't have a place to live by then, he'll look for a place we can rent for a year while we wait for our home to sell (anyone looking for a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath house with a partially finished basement, workshop, garage & rec room in disctrict 6???). Movers will move our personal items on May 24th (the day Jacob is starting his new job) and then Kim & the kids will fly out some time soon after that. There are a lot of details to sort through. So pray for us when you think of us :)
And seriously... if you're in the market for a house, or know someone - call us!!! We're asking only $94,900. That's a steal of a deal ;-)
So that's the news from here... nothing too terribly exciting boring. We'll miss our Spartanburg friends terribly, but look forward to watching God provide for us in new ways. It's a big adventure! Texas-sized-big!

Wow! Thanks for posting the whole story! I've been wanting to ask, but didn't want to add to your list of things to do.
