Thursday, while visiting Gramma's & Grampa's, we went to a petting farm in Maryland. There use to be this old preschool playground called "Enchanted Forest" - my mom use to go when she was a child, and then took us when we were kids. It has closed down - but the petting farm we went to today bought all the old story-book characters and playsets. It was fun to see them all. And inspite of the 90+ degree heat, Nathan had a good time playing at the farm!

Nathan & Faith playing in the mouth of Willie the Whale - I love how she looks at him with such admiration :)
You can kind of see Willie back in the throat of the whale... how come I've never heard of this story before?? Shouldn't it be Jonah and the whale??
Gramma let Nathan go for a pony ride - which made him very upset!!
But eventually he warmed up to the idea.
And he checked out the baby goats.
But he wouldn't dare touch them - my little boy hates to get dirty...
And there were funny looking chickens.
And some baby chicks, too!
Nathan wouldn't pet the sheep, either.
But he enjoyed hanging out with Gramma at the Mother Goose slide.
And Faith just watched from her stroller, checking out all the other kids and animals.
Nathan did feed some of the bigger goats. They liked his cheerios.
And then there were all the fairy-tales we saw... like the home of the Three Little Bears
Looking through the window at Baby Bear
Gotta love the Three Little Bear's living room - with a mounted hunter above the fireplace. Ha ha :)Nathan wasn't sure what to make of Papa Bear
Or of Humpty Dumpty - he was more into watching the field-trip-kids ride on the tractor ride.
There was the Old Woman's shoe-house
And Jack & Jill, falling down the hill
And the Crooked Old Man with his Crooked Old House
And the Three Little Pigs' home, too!
