Our second day in OH (first full day), we went to church with Granny & Pa. And afterwards, the kids got buckets & shovels from Granny. Later they'd use them in the dirt pile outside. But for the time being, they thought they made awesome hats!
Ok, so even when they were filled with dirt, the kids (mostly just Faith)
thought they still made great hats... lol
That afternoon, after naps, the kdis great grandparents
came over to play and visit - and we played baseball outside.
Nathan got pretty good learning to swing the bat, but I don't think he ever hit the ball quite by himself. He sure LOVED it though!
Everyone got in on the game!
Even little jealous sissy got a turn at bat.
While Faith got a turn with the bat, I tried to distract Nathan
by taking him over to watch Pa and the horses.
And Pa shared quite a valuable secret with Nathan...!
There's wild strawberries under the barn window!
And once Nathan discovered the treasures,
he was like a magnet to that window everyday!
And, sometimes, he even shared with his sister!
Then it was off to see what Daddy was up to.
He was up by the hay trailer - which the kids LOVED running up and down.
And when they got to Daddy, they giggled as they gave him fist bumps!
Then we explored the barn some more.
And Nathan helped Granny feed the horses some hay and carrots
before heading inside for dinner and an early birthday party for the kids!
Granny got the kids an ice cream birthday cake - whoa!
And then the kids opened gifts from their grandparents and great grandparents.
Nathan got a new train (James) and a toy car - which he LOVED!!
And what did Faith get?
An adorable outfit that fits her perfectly, she loves it!
And Granny & Pa got the kids bubbles, too!
At the end of the evening, after cake and presents, the kids snuggled with Granny & Pa. And I attempted to take a photo of them all - yeah, good luck with that. lol At least everyone's smiling in the photo even if they're not looking at the camera :)
The kids had a BLAST all day. And our vacation had only just begun.
More fun is in store for tomorrow :)
