Nellie Cave Park

Sorry for the lapse in blog posts this past week - especially to my Aunt Barb, who I know was enjoying daily posts. But I've still got lots of photos and stories to share this week, and hopefully I'll get to post them more often than once a week :)

When we were in Virginia, for Uncle Jr's wedding, we had the morning before the wedding free to do sometihgn around town. So we went, with Granny & Pa to a local park. It was called "Nellie Cave park" but we never saw any evidence of a cave... we did, however, see lots of evidence of fun being had! By the little kids AND the big kids :)

Pa turned into a preschooler again as he showed Nathan new ways to go down the slide.

And Nathan thought that was pretty cool, once he warmed up to the idea.

Faith, on the other hand, was little Miss Grumpy pants.
There wasn't too much that would make her smile...

Meanwhile, Pa & Daddy taught Nathan to climb up the playscape.

And Faith, continued to be a grump.

Daddy tried to warm her up by helping her down the slide...
that didn't work.

But Nathan was all too eager for Daddy & Pa's attention
and their help in learning to use the monkey bars

Whoa - strong little boy!

Finally, with Granny's help, Faith warmed up to the idea of playing.

But she wasn't too sure about the monkey bars.

Faith just played and watched, from a distance, as other's had fun.
Pa taught Nathan to pump his legs and swing high.

Nathan didn't quite catch on, but he sure enjoyed watching
Daddy & Pa compete with each other on who could swing higher.

And Faith just enjoyed snuggling with Granny on the swing for a while.

Then the boys took over the tall slide and Pa showed off his backwards sliding skills

Nathan loved chasing his Pa up the stairs and down the slide

And soon, faith was having a blast, too!

Look at the cutie :)
Climbing the ladder to ride the slide, over and over and over again.

Weee!!!

Even Daddy went down silly a bunch of times.

And I'm pretty sure Pa had a blast, too!!
The kids (ours and the stranger's kids who were playing there at the same time) all sure loved playing with him!

I've got a few videos to post from our morning at the park.
I will get those uploaded soon in another post on another day.
