Swimming with Daddy & Pa

After a fun wedding, we headed back to our hotel after the reception. It was later int he afternoon and the kids were wide awake. We were no fools... they weren't going to nap no matter what we did. So why make them??  While Jacob returned some tuxes, we had a half hour of quiet time. Then it was off to the hotel pool before it got too cool out! That's right Texas friends... too cool to swim?? In September??? Imagine that ;-)

Faith was excited to go swimming!

And Nathan had no hesitations jumping in to his Daddy's arms!

He loved jumping to Pa, too!

Faith was a little more hesitant to jump that day.

But she sure enjoyed relaxing with Daddy while Nathan played with Pa.

Pa gave Nathan one of his first swimming lessons while Great Aunt Carrie and Great Grandma watched from the pool's edge.

And he "swam" back and forth across the pool a number of times

As it cooled, the kids got cold and took a break in the sunshine to have some popcorn - yum.

But Pa looked a little too relaxed while the kids snacked...
So Nathan decided to do something about that... hehe

 Push, Nathan, PUSH!

Nathan did it! Pa went in!
But do you have the foresight that we lacked?? Can you tell what happened just a second after this pic was taken??  Think about it... think back to your high school physic's class and the law of inertia.... yup... Nathan went in, head first, too. Scared us all for a split second, but Daddy was right there to rescue him quickly - and all was ok! Nathan was a bit shaken, but was soon just fine and playing again! And lesson learned by us adults!

Soon it was time to head in, change and get ready for dinner out with the family.

What fun the kids had swimming with Daddy & Pa!
