There were lizards to see. And imitate.
And a flight control tower - just like the one Uncle David works at!
Bet this one's more colorful though ;-)
Faith checked out the map
While Nathan pretended to be Uncle Dave, inside the tower
That's what you do all day, right Uncle Dave?? Sit with your sippy cup and smile whiel you watch out the window? Doesn't look so stressful to me.... hehe
There was an airplane the kids could play inside.
They pretended to be pilots.
Then down the hall there was a old fashioned room
with antique kids-sized funiture that Faith enjoyed.
While Faith reclined, Nathan called Granny.
"Hi, Granny!"
Back on the main floor was a mini engineer's playground.
There were all kinds of contraptions to play with - gears, wheels, ball canons, etc.
Faith discovered the air supply that made balls appear to float in midair.
While Daddy & Nathan (mostly Daddy), played with all the other stuff.
And there was a whole room dedicated to BUBBLES!
There was even a place where you could make a bubble bigger than you!
The kids thought that was pretty cool.
Of course, popping the bubble is as much fun as making it ;-)
Then there was a water table to play with.
Daddy was attracted to that like a magnet, just like the kids ;-)
Jacob created a river to funnel all the water in one direction,
the kids enjoyed the fast moving rapids when they sent duckies down.
Downstairs was a huge HEB grocery store for the kids to play and shop in.
They loved having their own kid-sized shopping carts and getting whatever they wanted to "buy."
Surprisingly, the kids selected far more fruits & veggies than they did cookies. lol
When it was time to check out, Faith refused to hand over her loot!
She thought the young cashier wanted to take all her goodies... lol
Nathan, on the other hand, loved the check out line as much as shopping.
He happily handed over his stockpile of carrots and cookies for the little girl to ring up.
While Nathan checked out, Faith poured me a glass of juice and fed me some pizza. yum
There was a life-size fake cow that the kids were able to "milk"
And then this... what on earth are they doing??
It was a blue screen and they were being video-taped
so that they could play on the TV screen.
Faith was into it, Nathan was too mezmerized with the other things around him.
Finally, we ended our visit at the diamond dig.
Our membership came with some free tickets to "dig" for treasures.
The kids were given a basket of rocks, in water, and were able to dig through
and keep whatever "treasures" they found.
Faith was in love with all the rocks. "Rock" is one of her newest favorite words, and she could have played with them all day. While Nathan dug for the fool's gold, quartz and other stones, Faith just played with the pebbles. But I helped her collect the bugger ones to take home.
Just before leaving, the kids rode the trolly in the lobby.
Nathan drove.
While Faith sat in the back, playing with her rock collection.
She loves those rocks!!
Soon we headed back to the van to go home,
with the kids each happily carrying their new treasures!
Before heading down for naps, the kids got to sit down and compare their rock collections.
Who needs toys when we have rocks!?!?
What a fun Saturday we had with Daddy at the Children's Museum!
We'll be back, that's for sure!
