Tuesday, after playing with the horses, we headed out to the train museum with Granny.
There was no doubt Nathan would LOVE it.
And Faith, too!
The kids were both fascinated with the model trains.
And we got outside just in time to see a real train go by - wow!
Our family on the back of a train outside the museum.
Nathan & Faith checked out the giant wheels on the engine!
And they posed with Granny at the front of the train.
When we heard another train coming, the kids ran to the fence to watch.
Faith was physically trembling - her hands were shaking so much.
I thought she was about to cry because the approaching train was loud!
But, in reality, she was smiling from ear to ear, SOOO excited about the train!
I've never seen her shake so much for pure excitement!
The kids (and Jacob) played some more while we waited for Pa to come meet us.
Wow - look at all the levers to play with.
Either Faith is SUPER strong, or this is a little unbalanced... hehe
Inside the museum were lots of bells to ring, old things to see, and a antique penny scale to try. It said Nathan is just over 40lb!! (At our home scale, he's 39.5lb) - pretty accurate, especially considering all the extra clothes he was wearing that day. I can't remember the last time he wore jeans or a jacket in TX :)
And Faith was tickled to get to try the scale too!
It had her just over 30lb. At home, the scale says 29.5lb.
Pa caught up with us at the train museum and we headed over to get root beer floats from a place called the White Turkey. Wow were they cool root beer floats - they even had "kiddie" mugs!
Pa helped Faith figure out how to eat her monster mountain of ice cream, without spilling the root beer in her lap. And Nathan, proudly wearing his new Train Engineer's hat from Granny, ate with Granny.
The kids thought it was such an awesome treat!
Thank you, Granny & Pa!
Faith couldn't finish her ice cream. Maybe she takes after her momma??
Or maybe it was just the fact that her ice cream was almost the size of her head. hehe
So Daddy "sacrificed" and helped her out.
Nathan, on the other hand, had no problem downing his float!
Yummy!
After our root beer floats, we heard back to Pa & Granny's for some MORE fun!
That's right, our day's not nearly over, there's still more to share.
You'll have to wait till tomorrow to see those photos :)
