Sonogram Update

We had our third sonogram this afternoon. For those not up-to-date, last week a nurse called to tell me the doc had just seen the results of our anatomy sono and said there were some unclear things about the spine. The nurse sounded serious and the doctor wanted another sono asap. Did they see something bad? They wouldn't say - they just said that it wasn't clear and wanted another sonogram of the baby's spine. Of course my mind went a million places - especially since this child doesn't move much.

Since last week, many of you have been praying that the baby would be proven to be healthy and growing on track, and that we'd have peace about it all. Thank you for your prayers! I've been at total peace about the situation and knew whatever we learned today, God would take care of.

So this afternoon we went to get a sono, and follow up immediately with the doctor. Instead of just looking at the spine, the tech did a full anatomy sonogram again. And everything is PERFECT. She's growing great, she's measuring on track, all her organs are int he right spot, doing their thing like they should. She has 10 fingers, 10 toes. And her spine?? Gorgeous :)  Not a worry in the world! They think she's close to 11 inches long and about 1lb, 1oz in weight.

PRAISE GOD :)

She's gotten so big (almost 22 weeks) that she no longer completely fits on the sonogram screen from head to bottom. And she apparently really likes to have her left hand back behind her head - as though she's practicing for a future modeling career. She was in a similiar position 3 weeks ago.

Oh yes, and she's still a she :)

You may laugh that I asked about the baby's gender again. But for those friends in SC, you all know why. We have a friend who was told (multiple times) that she was having a girl. And surprise, it was a boy. Rhonda handled that surprise far better than I would have! At least we have everything we need for both genders, just in case. And I'll still bring a boy's outfit to the hospital - Rhonda has struck fear in every pregnant woman after her experience. LOL But this sono was pretty clear that there's nothing there that even hints at a boy. Sorry, Jacob :)

So that's the big news from our big day. Oh! I failed to tell you, Nathan LOVED his first day of school And he's passed the 3 hour mark on nap time so far. hehe  Faith enjoyed having a brother free morning, but they were excited to see each other at pick-up, too.

Today was busy, but starting tomorrow Faith & I will have to find some fun (free) things to do around town while big brother is at school. Any ideas??
