The farm had a few animals on display for the kids to watch and feed.
Faith particularly liked the chickens and often went around mimicing them.
It was adorable! When one chicken escaped, she chased it around and tried to catch it.
When the chicken ran off, Faith was interested in feeding the goats with Daddy.
Even Nathan enjoyed that!
And there was a pig to feed, too.
When the bully-ish goats weren't looking.
But then the escapee chicken came back and Faith spotted it!!
She loved chasing it and acting like a chicken herself!
This is when I pulled out the video camera and caught some on the video I posted Sunday.
When the chicken got away, again, Faith found a donkey to feed.
There was a small fishing pond on the farm. They provided rods and corn to use as bait. I though Faith would love this activity, based purely on the ick factor... I was wrong. She couldn't sit still long enough. But Nathan? He could have sat out there with his Daddy all day long!
Nathan caught a fish! And got to feel it, too.
There he is with his first catch.
Can you see it?? hehe
Faith and I walked around the pond while Daddy and Nathan fished some more. Faith was mostly interested in walking in the pond... that girl loves to get messy :)
Then Nathan caught another fish!!
So we came over to check it out.
And then Faith tried to fish with Daddy - it wasn't long before she needed to get up and wiggle - but in that short time, she caught a fish, too!
There was a hay barrel maze that the kids enjoyed.
Really, they just enjoyed chasing each other... hehe
There was a barrel train ride. Last year, Jacob suffered thru it with the kids when we went to a different farm. So this year, I sacrificed.
And then there was a duck racing area. You pumped water to halved PVC pipes and raced a rubber duckie to the other side. The kids loved it! So did Jacob.
Daddy & Nathan racing ducks - Nathan's winning!
But not for long... Daddy's pumping faster!
Nathan was focusing hard... check out that tongue, even it working hard!
And there's Faith's tongue sticking out, working equally as hard. lol
And if I zoom in on the photo above, you can see where our kids get it... LOL
Jacob must be working hard, too ;-)
Although there were plenty of other things to see on the farm: tricycle racetrack, playgrounds, sand boxes, mining for rocks, etc, it was getting late and we needed to start heading home. So we made one final stop at the pumpkin patch to check out those big ole pumpkins.
The kids enjoyed seeing how big of a pumkin they could carry.
After a few final pictures, we sat down and enjoyed a snack with our friends who had been off exploring the farm in other areas. Then we headed home to rest from our busy morning. It was a fun day at Devine Acres :)
