Top 10 Lessons

On the eve of Nathan turning 4 months old, I thought I'd think back on the top 10 things Mommyhood has taught me...

10. Patience

9. Hormones stink... and so does formula. Especially when you spill the leftovers out of the bottle and into the bottom of the dishwasher... then let it sit overnight. WHEWIE!!!! That stuff reaks.

8. A freshly shampooed baby head is the best smell ever

7. Cloth diapers rule. No chemicals to irriate his perfect little bottom. No diaper rashes. They save us money and are green. And Nathan gets to stand out in a crowd :-) Here's a shameless plug... http://www.bumgenius.com/ along with another big thank you to all of you who gave them as gifts - its a gift that keeps on giving!

6. Whoever said that giving birth is met with an immediate feeling that makes all the pain worth it... they lied. Its rough. The whole first month is rough! But it gets sooo much better! Which is good, because we're going to be doing it all over again in about 7 1/2 months!

5. You really can and do adjust to less sleep. But that doesn't mean I like it.

4. Patience. I know that is a repeat. It deserves to be here twice. In fact, it could be the top ten all on it's own.

3. Momnesia is a cruel reality. Dadnesia may well exist, too.

2. Just because I'm a mom now, doesn't mean I have to grow up. I can still be silly, slightly immature, and play a few practical jokes now and again. Like #6... We're not expecting a baby in 7 1/2 months. Its TWINS! Ok, kidding again :) Or at least I hope so.

And the #1 thing Mommyhood has taught me... well, I already knew it before I was a mom, but I've since come to learn it on a new level...

1. God is... wow. Where do I start?? Loving, amazing, incredible, miraculous, sovereign, merciful, mighty, awesome, gracious, compassionate, righteous, wise, true, real, eternal, holy, and my sustainer.
