Exhausted

They are exhausted. I'm exhausted. Jacob's exhausted. Gramma's exhausted. I think the cat's the only one having no trouble adjusting to our new normal. But we're all still doing good! While the kids (ahh - I have kidS, plural!!) are napping, I'm taking advantage of the chance to post to the blog. I have tons of pictures that will hopefully soon make it up, too. But right now I'm doing awesome to be dressed, showered and still awake :)

Gramma leaves tomorrow and I'm SOOOOO going to miss her. I know Nathan is going to go through major Gramma withdrawl as well. He's really enjoyed her attention and love this week. I'm honestly scared as to what we'll do when it's just me and the kids during the day. Although they seem to already be on the same nap schedule, so if that holds up, I'll have 2-3 hours to find my sanity again!

I know it'll take a while to get into a routine. But we'll make it. Whether the laundry, dishes, diapers, dinner and house in general make it... that's a totally different story. I'll be happy when we're all still alive at the end of the day :)

On another note... the kids (AHH - again!! Plural!! Still adjusting to that!) had a doctor's appointment today. Faith for her newborn visit and Nathan for his 15 month's. Here's their stats...

FAITH:
* 6lb, 15oz - in the 20th percentile
* 19 1/2 inches long - in the 43rd percentile
* 14 inch head circumference - in the 56th percentile

NATHAN:
* 31.2 lb - in the 98.5th percentile
* 34 inches tall - in the 98.8th percentile
* 18.7 inch head circumference - in the 60th percentile

Both are healthy and growing like they should. Dr. McLeod laughed at how were certainly no longer worried about Nathan's growth - as we did his first 2 weeks. And he is slowing down! Three months ago, he was in the 99th percentile. And 6 months ago, it was the 100th! And Faith?? She's right on track to be back to her birth weight by next week - which is perfectly normal. Babies lose up to 10% of their body weight in the days after birth and gain it back an ounce a day. They're usually back to their birth weight at 2 weeks of age. She just has 6 ounces to gain in 7 days, so she should make that date just fine! But we'll still go in for a weight check on Friday to be sure.

Nathan does have a slight ear infection. Dr. McLeod said it's not bad enough necessarily for an antibiotic, but since he's had a runny nose for a few weeks and has been waking at night (only to put himself back to sleep after a few moments of crying), she thought we should treat it. So we got a prescription for amoxicillin - and then headed to Publix for some grocery shopping where they PAID me $25 to fill that prescription!!! That was one awesome deal - read about it over at my coupon blog, Coupon Compulsion.

Let's see... other big news? Eat, sleep, poop, cry, repeat. That's about life at the moment. At least for Faith. For Nathan? He's definitely got some jealousy towards all the attention his sister gets. There have been a number of times I've tried to nurse and hold him at the same time, or walk craddling Faith while he's between my legs walking, too.

Yeah. WALKING. He is a serious pro at this almost! In just a week, he started walking all over the house. But he wouldn't walk in public. Until the day his sister was born! He WALKED down the hospital hallway and walked all over the hospital room! He went for walks outside with his Granny & Pa. He's walked up stairs with Pa. And walked all over the nursery at church. He even walked the length of Lowe's the other day and from the car to the front door of Babies R Us. He is doing awesome and rarely ever crawling anymore.

And that's not the only way Nathan has grown lately. He's no longer on any bottles!!! In fact, our house is practically bottle free at the moment!!! It's wonderful!

Bottle free - with a newborn in the house?!!? YES! Not with Nathan... but with Faith, God has answered my prayers in allowing me to nurse this time! So far I make enough to fill her up - and then some!! (I only ever made 1/10 of an ounce with Nathan - no matter what herbs or drugs or techniques I tried... and that even that little bit dried up after a few months). So I had given away all the nursing pads I had from before Nathan... since I never needed them. That was before this weekend when I looked down and my shirt was soaked into my armpit! I should have been embarassed, but I was excited!! Now if only the pain would go away NOW instead of waiting a few more weeks, as my nursing-mom-friends say it will take... But still, I'm sooo thankful I'm making milk and Faith is nursing well. Plus it keeps the bottles to a bare minimum so Nathan doesn't see them and get jealous.

Wow, I wrote alot. I'll try to keep all our out-of-town family updated as much as possible and share pictures as I can. I have lots to share, just need the time to post them. I'll get there. In the mean time, I still have at a half hour before one of the kids wake up, so I'm off to enjoy it!
