Friendly Visit

Thursday my friend, Lauren, came to visit. She's living just 1 1/2 hours away now and we hadn't seen each other in 14 years! Wow, how does time fly by so fast??

We had a great visit - she got to meet both Jacob and Nathan. We thought maybe Faith might be here by now for her to meet, too. But she's still hiding out. She'll be here within a week, ready or not, though! (Induction is scheduled for a week from today!)

Nathan ADORED Lauren! He giggled at her from the moment she walked in the door. And then he wanted her to pick him up more than me. He'd climb in my lap, only to get down right away and go to her. It was cute! He even sat still for a while in Lauren's lap while she read him his favorite book, "The Gingerbread Man." He will pull out all his books until he finds that one and want you to read it to him - but rarely does he give you the chance to read a page before he's turning the pages on you. He let Lauren actually read it to him 1 1/2 times though!

Lauren got to share pictures and stories of her time as a Journeyman Missionary in Morocco. That was fascinating to me. She really had an amazing experience, and I was a bit jealous :) And she shared pictures from her family and soon-to-be-fiance, too! It was great to catch up and hear all that God is doing in her life!

I wish I'd taken more pictures of her visit, I thought I'd get some this morning, but Nathan was still sleeping when Lauren left. He was up from 4-6am, off and on. I think he has 2-3 teeth coming in at the same time. At least he went back to sleep and is peaceful now!

And now that Lauren is so close, we'll see her more often. Maybe next time we'll head to her area and meet her guy, too!
