Trunk or Treat

Tonight was Trunk-or-Treat at our church. We hadn't planned on going, but a friend offered to let us borrow one of her children's old costumes. And we were (well, I was) ready to get out of the house for something a little different. Due to the threat of rain, Trunk-or-Treat was moved into our church's gym. Nathan was excited to go from the moment he got out of the car - mostly because he enjoys walking/pushing the stroller.

Jacob chose Eeyore from our friend's collection. I'm not a big fan of Winnie the Pooh... but the costume was pretty darn cute on Nathan!!

And Faith? Well, she didn't dress up so much. But she did get all decked out in her Clemson nightgown and hat! The hat that never fit Nathan from day one - we had hoped to take him home in the hospital wearing it. But his head was too big. It fits little Faith just great, though.

Once in the gym, we joined up with a family from Jacob's Sunday School class - Nicholas, Sonya & Mark. Fellow Clemson fans :) They were hosting a table to pass out candy.

Nicholas was kind enough to empty all the candies he didn't like into the pile to give away to other kids. hehe... and Jacob? He sat right next to that big bowl of candy, too. With Nathan in his lap. Turns out Nathan likes Kit Kats, Butterfingers and Reeses. But who doesn't??

Then we ran into the rest of the gang! No, we didn't plan it. It was so fun to see Mary Beth as Tigger, Jackson as Pooh and Lily as Piglet! We had to get a photo. Trying to get 4 toddlers to look at the camera at the same time?? Not so easy! We were doing great to get them all to stand still!

Nathan absolutely loved Trunk-or-Treat. He had a blast watching people and snacking on candy with his Daddy. Then when it was time to walk around, he was in heaven! He walked all over that gym - no interest in collecting candy, but loving the freedom to move around, watch people and play with the other preschoolers who were around! I think he would have stayed all night if we'd of let him.

A few kids actually chased Nathan down to give him some candy. Once he realized he could put it in his bucket, he thought that was pretty great. So he sat down with his Daddy and friends and took the candy out, and put it back in. Took it out. And put it back in. Over and over and over again! Laughing and clapping away!

What a great night at Trunk-or-Treat - and a great chance to hang out with his Daddy and no baby sister to get in the way! Thanks to Anje for the costume! It was a fun night!
