The MOPS group at our church meets twice a month - its a fun time for me & the kids - separately ;) I enjoy the break, and chance to get to know some other moms. My kids enjoy the break from me, and chance to hang out with other kids while learning about Jesus. Oh, yeah, and enjoying Molly Mops' cookies ;-)
This morning, at MOPS, we had a hat contest for the moms. Last year I didn't participate. This year, I wasn't planning to, either. I had a ton of other things I needed to do for the meeting & brunch. Finding or making a hat was low on my priority list. Until 11pm last night, I had an idea, and - more amazingly, I wasn't too tired to make it.
I took Nathan's hat from his Puss N Boots costume and hot glued some train tracks to it. Then hot glued a few trains. Silly me thought the hot glue would just pick off easily after the meeting. ha ha ha. Not so easy. But it did, eventually, come off ;)
Not that Nathan cared about the glue on his trains or tracks. The moment he saw my hat, he was so jealous!!! He wanted to wear it and was pretty upset that I got to wear it instead. But, after the meeting, I let him wear the hat at home. And he took it to his nap room with him, too. ha ha I think he loved the choo choo train hat more than his Puss N Boots costume!
Oh yeah.... and I WON "Best overall hat" at the MOPS meeting!! whoo hoo
My prize? A starbucks gift card. LOL
So I guess you could say JACOB won at the MOPS meeting... cause he'll get my gift card ;)
And Nathan won a cool new hat (he won't let me un-glue the tracks yet... ha)
