I can't remember the last time I flew a kite. But does the idea of flying kites just sound relaxing and appealing?? I thought so when I bought the kids some dollar store kites. It'd be a fun family activity, right?
The kids were so excited about their kites. Cars & Cinderella.
Nathan had the bigger one, and Faith didn't care since she had a princess.
If only world peace could be so easy...
After I failed to get Nathan's kite in the air, Jacob gave it a try.
Ruth helped ;-)
And Nathan's was soon up!
He had a great time trying to chase the kite tails.
And Faith waited patiently as I tried to get her's in the air, too.
She enjoyed chasing the tails of her kite, as well.
I was unsuccessful at getting Faith's kite in the air, too.
At least I got Nathan's halfway up. But Faiths? I down right failed.
So Jacob taught Nathan to hold his kite while he tried to get Faith's flying, too.
But even Daddy failed with Faith's :(
It was just too small.
Why did the same manufacturer make a princess kite 1/3 the size of a Cars kite and sell them for the same price?!?! I don't understand. It was a good thing Faith didn't mind too much. She just loved the fact that there was a princess on it :)
Afraid of disappointing Faith, I ran inside and yanked the giant butterfly kite off the wall.
Maybe it would fly since it was bigger.
But all it did was give Faith, Nathan & I some good chuckles as we watched
Jacob run around trying to get it in the air :)
At least one kite flew well that night. And Nathan adored watching it!
That is, until it crash landed in two of the neighbor's trees.... ha
At least that was a few days after it's initial flight. It's first day out was safe ;-)
Next time we'll go to a field where we can watch Jacob run even more.... haha
