We spent most of our time just hanging out on the farm with Granny & Pa. Nathan was reintroduced to the cows, horses & tractors. And he had a great time watching his daddy turn back into a farm boy.

At first, the horse back riding experience was dreadful. But Nathan was still kind of sleepy.

When he got use to it, he enjoyed his ride with Granny on Mr. B.

And he loved seeing and petting all the horses.

The cows were much more shy of Nathan on this trip. Out in pasture they had the freedom to stay away from us, and not lick all over Nathan.

Although, as soon as we'd turn our back to them, they'd sneak up on us to check us out. I'm not sure if this is Beauford or Oxford... but look closely, because one day I'll tell you how he tastes!

Nathan took the wheel of the tractor right away on his first tractor ride of the week.

He LOVED driving with daddy!

Daddy even taught Mommy how to drive the brush hog. But he was sneaky!! He said "pull that, push there, manuever that lever, push that ball, now move that thing" and next thing I knew, I was leaving him in my dust (or so it felt!) and had NO IDEA how to stop the thing!! Jacob thought that was funny - told me he would have told me how to stop after the pasture was bush-hogged. ha ha

Could you figure out how to drive - or stop - that thing?!?!

There were wild turkeys that ran through the back yard one night! Maybe they were looking for their cousin - Jacob :)

Daddy even taught Mommy to drive the lawn mower. Nathan about fell asleep on my lap as I mowed the back yard. And soon, Jacob was attaching the wagon to the back, and riding in it... with Freckles, the dog!! We didn't get a picture of that... but you can only imagine the silliness.

Riding behind the mower became a favorite of Nathan's. He'd giggle when he saw us get close to it - he knew he was about to go for a ride.

Oh... can't forget the food Granny makes!! Nathan LOVED her meatballs - can you tell?? And he loved her yogurt, too!!! Spinach quiche...?? not so much.
