Nathan's First Birthday Party!

Friday evening, Grampa & Gramma came into visit for Nathan's birthday party! We didn't do anything special, just had them over for dinner and cake - oh, and a big silly mess :) Hopefully we'll get to do it all over again next weekend with Pa & Granny in Ohio!

What's a party without a balloon to wack people on the head with?


Thursday (his real birthday) we tried out his hat. Good thing I got this picture, because he had no interest in wearing it at his party.


Even Grampa got in the hat-wearing spirit! He won't wear one of those for just anyone :)

Funny cake story... Publix messed up our cake order. Instead of getting a cake that said "Happy 1st Birthday Nathan", it said "Mason." And the 5inch blue baby cake I ordered, that was suppose to be blank on top (we had candles), ended up being FIVE 5 inch blue cakes. Yea, crazy. So, long story short, Publix quickly made a new 1/4 sheet cake while I waited and let us take 2 of the blue cakes for free - they wrote "Happy Birthday Nathan" on one for us.

It was a good thing we had 2 blue cakes... because the new 1/4 sheet cake... it was FROZEN SOLID!


Nathan is wondering what's going on. "Why is everyone staring at me?"

Time for a night-time ba-ba with Gramma, then off to bed to dream about all the cake & presents :)
