Monday Gramma, Auntie M, Nathan, Faith, Kim, and our friends Jason, DeAnn, William, Grason & Felicity all went to the Chesapeake Children's Museum for the morning. Upon arriving we were initially disappointed... its very small, just an old house convertered into a giant playroom. But Nathan absolutely LOVED it. I think it was mostly the fact that he could go in any room, and no one was telling him he couldn't touch something. He could have stayed for hours! We'll definitely have to return on our next visit to Gramma's house.
If you're in the Annapolis area, I highly recommend the "museum" for your toddler. It's only $3 to get in, too! But older kids would have much more fun at a true children's museum.

I think Nathan could have stayed at the helm of this ship for hours!

He was only slightly interested in the turtles, though.
Auntie M couldn't even get him to look at one up close.

The tools & toy workbench were more his thing!

And the play fruit! He grabbed something new every time he passed by!

The toy tug boat was a favorite!!!

He just wanted to climb in and out and in and out over and over again. Even if it meant climbing in backwards!

But he sure liked the bunnies in the basement!!

He even tried to kiss one! Which got Grason wanting to do the same. Silly boys!

Jason and his "little" girl! Felicity is already 4 months old! Seems like her baby shower was just last week!

Her big brother, William, had a blast on the drums he made!

Grason even got in the action. Tongue action, that is!

But the funniest, to me... when we left, Nathan was scared of the slight ramp that went from one play room to the next. He got down on all fours, turned so his feet were going down first and attempted to "slide" down the carpeted ramp. Which, of course didn't work. But he refused to walk it. It was hysterical!
Thanks, Gramma, for taking us to the biggest playroom ever!

I've seen a documentary on the development of spatial awareness in humans. It was really fascinating! They tried to get babies to crawl across a clear glass "bridge," and they wouldn't do it (even after seeing scientists walk across it)! I guess it's some sort of self-preservation instinct thing. Your little ones are so very cute!
It sounds like you guys had a wonderful Christmas! Happy New Year!
