Toes

Why did God make toes? He could have just made flat feet for us. Why would he want to give us something to stub on a coffee table in the middle of the night? I now know...

He made them for mothers. For times like when a toddler falls and cuts open his nose, screams in pain and runs to be consoled by his mother, who is trying to feed his baby sister... With the help of toes, the toddler's mother can hold him down and try to console him with one arm. Then she can use her free arm to stop the bleeding and keep his flailing arms from getting the blood everywhere. And she can use her toes to hold the bottle for her baby who is also screaming to be fed (for the 6th time in just 4 hours!). I'm so glad God knew I'd need those toes :)

And I'm so glad that my little ham of a toddler is all better - and that the cut wasn't deep enough to need attention from anyone but his mother (and a pile of tissues.) And I'm also thankful that Faith's appetite was finally quenched for a little while, after that 6th feeding.
