A few months ago, I bought some Crayola Bath Fingerpaints for the kids. They were horrible. A total waste of money. They barely showed up on the kids' skin. And one bath used them all up. I was disappointed, to say the least. And then I discovered that you could mix washable paint with shaving cream and make your own bathtub paints. They're awesome!
I used a muffin tin to keep the colors separate, and did a few favorite colors a multiple times. Like pink & yellow - the kids love those colors, if you haven't already figured out ;)
I showed the kids how it worked - I painted on the shower wall and they got excited!
Faith loved to make a mess - I mean, paint - all over the wall!
Then she discovered she could paint herself... and well, that was just fabulous!
Check out that hairdo :)
The girl was in mess making heaven!
And Nathan? He loved painting, too. But he mostly painted with yellow (surprise, surprise) and that didn't show up well on this skin or on in the photos. When he did paint the wall, though, he felt the need to clean it off right away. Ha ha. That kid loves to clean things :) He definitely has a touch of OCD - and that's perfectly OK :)
Faith's no clean freak though - she's just a mess.
And she'll still tell you that: "I'm a mess." Gotta love it!
Bathtub painting is a hit!
The one can of cheap shaving cream is lasting forever. And just a few squirts of washable paint is all that's needed to color it. We play with bathtub paints a lot - most days it's just yellow & pink though ;) I should just break down and by gallon buckets of those colors... ha
Nathan did NOT like it when Faith tried to paint him.
Even though she thought it would be fun.
However...
Faith loved it when Nathan painted her back!
She'd tell him, "Thank you, nay nay!" ha!
Don't you just want to squeeze her?? :)
Maybe at an arm's length.... haha
Check out that water. Nasty, huh?
Good thing we were painting, else it'd look like we had really dirty kids :)
As much fun as bathtub painting is, wait till "G" week. We're going to play with glowing bathtub paint!! Blacklight + fluorescent washable paints... it's going to be.... LEGEN... wait for it.... DARY! (haha, just had to say that for Jacob ;) And since I now know how to take awesome blacklight pics with my new camera, I'll get to share the fun with you, too :)
