I didn't get a chance to upload this post yesterday. Our Father's Day was a nice day.
The kids enjoyed spoiling their Daddy a little.
Just before leaving for church, the kids eagerly brought Daddy their gifts. As the sang "Happy birthday, Daddy" LOL I quickly reminded them - it's Father's Day, not Daddy's birthday :)
The kids were excited to give Daddy a custom story book with his photo throughout.
It's kinda cheesy, but the kids loved that Daddy is the star of the book!
And the kids made Jacob a t-shirt. Their handprints, and then they colored in the letters. They did much better than I thought they'd do :) The shirt says, "World's Best Daddy, hands down"
And there was a surprise on the back of the shirt... a race track.
So after church, the kids raced cars and gave Daddy a back massage in the process :)
At church, Daddy discovered his 3rd gift. When he opened his Bible to teach SS,
he found bookmarks the kids helped to make!
After church, it was time to read the storybook and have some quality time giggling with Daddy.
After naps, we took Daddy out to Outback for steak. And then headed home to skype with my Daddy. Jacob is an amazing Dad! So patient, loving and silly; a man of integrity, character and wisdom. I'm so thankful he is the father of my children. And even more thankful that my father is such a great dad to spend his life teaching and modeling the kind of man a father and husband should be. If my dad weren't so awesome, I never would have found Jacob :) I love you, Daddy!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
To my Dad. To Jacob. And to all Dads!
