Easter week, our MOPS group at church hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the preschoolers.
One of the moms read the Easter story and then retold the story through resurrection eggs.
She passed out the eggs to some of the older kids, in order to let them help her tell the story. Nathan was thrilled to get an egg - I think he thought it was to keep and filled with candy. Then he saw the mini crown of thrones, his young mind probably thought it was a ring. But he listened, intently, as Audrey shared the story of Jesus' death and resurrection in a preschool friendly way.
After story time, the kids went on a hunt for eggs.
Last year, Faith found one egg and was happy with that!
This year, she understood the game better and tried to find as many as she could :)
Nathan found a ton - probably more than any other child there.
So he shared some of his eggs after the hunt - he just doesn't quite know that ;-)
After the egg hunt, we had a picnic lunch then played with a friends for a bit before heading home.
I'm not sure why Faith looks so miserable in the above photo. She really was very happy :)
And both kids were even happier when we got home and opened all the eggs.
They thoroughly enjoyed their candy and prizes!
