Rolling over is now his new favorite trick. He re-discovered this ability Sunday afternoon and thats all he wants to do now when you set him down. He rolled a couple times in the airport bathroom while trying to change him. There was a long cushioned bench to change him on, so he had lots of room and wouldn't stay still for a new diaper. It was funny. He rolls over just about any time he's on the floor - usually back to front. He has no use for the belly to back... you can't get to things that way! Problem is, he'll try to roll even when he's not on the floor... he almost took a tumble last night trying to roll off the side of his bouncy seat (which he's almost too big for...).
And he's sitting straight up and down like a big boy in his bumbo seat - no more leaning backwards or sideways. He looks like a big kid in it!
And he now knows his bottle very well, too. I pull it out of his diaper bag and he tries to grab it and pull it towards his mouth before I ever get the formula in it. When I bring it to him, he puts it in his mouth and holds on tight. Soon he'll be holding it on his own. That will be wonderful!
And I'll be storing more clothes away this weekend, too... because some of the clothes I brought to his Tuesday babysitter were too small for her to put on him! I'm sure there are more in his dresser... good thing he got new clothes from his Aunt Mary & Uncle David! He's already wearing them! And they are 12 month outfits. Although he still fits a lot of his 9 month stuff, too. Here he is sporting some of his new clothes from his Siblents.
A lot of relatives want to know what size to get him for Christmas... he typically wears one size bigger in pants than shirts (but not always). He's in size 12 month pants now and 9 & 12 month shirts. We're pretty set in those sizes. But we have very little in 18 month pants, shirts and PJs. So 18 month is a safe bet. Then again, 42/36 pants may be safer!Beside putting clothes into storage, this weekend we're also going to install his new convertable car seat. He's just about at the limit of his infant car seat and his feet are already starting to touch the back of the seat that its mounted in! Plus we can no longer buckle the main buckle if he's wearing a jacket! My little boy isn't so little anymore!
So how big is he???
I weighed him yesterday morning. 20lbs. But my scale doesn't have ounces. I'm sure he's over 20 lbs.
And I measured him, too. He's almost 27.5 inches long!
And his hair... yes... HAIR... its growing longer too! No more peach fuzz! He has lots more hair than his Daddy now!
But no teeth yet... although, he's still teething pretty regularly. His fingers are a permanent fixture in his mouth anymore.
He'll be five months next week... I can't believe how fast the time has gone!!
