Alphabet Puzzle

Nathan has a wooden alphabet puzzle (from Uncle Dave) that he loves to play with. It comes out at least once a day - and 26 pieces go flying around the living room. Did I mention a thank you to Uncle Dave??? :)

We'll play with the puzzle together, taking one piece out at a time and letting Nathan figure out how to put it back. But we've never seen him do what he did with Grampa...

Grampa dumped the puzzle pieces in Nathan's lap. And then one by one, Nathan put the pieces back. When he put the first piece back exactly where it belonged, without assistance, we were shocked. But figured it was just dumb luck. But when 4 of the next 5 pieces went in the right spot on the first time, I pulled out the video camera!!

He didn't get them all right without help. But he amazed us at how well he did. It's not a matter of matching pictures - since the puzzle piece has a letter on it and the board has photos of objects that start with that letter. It is really about matching shapes. He's a smart little kid! Maybe tomorrow I can teach him how to do the laundry ;-)
