Downtown with Auntie M

Monday morning, the kids and I took Mary on a mini-tour of downtown San Antonio. We showed her the riverwalk (that's for another post), the Alamo, and a few things in between.

Here's Auntie M with the kids in front of the Alamo
And then the kids and I at the same spot

There's the grand old Alamo
It looks a lot bigger in history books, doesn't it?
Really, it's very small... and smack int he mdidle od downtown
See how small it is... itsy bitsy

You can't take photos inside the chapel, but behind it, we found a canon to take a picture of... or, in Nathan's case, to run Percy the train on... lol Bet that's exactly what Davy Crockett imagined that canon would be used for one day...

And Faith had her picture taken later on a rock wall downtown.
We tried to get Nathan to pose with her, but he refused.
Oh well, guess it's good that he's not there to compete with
her extreme cuteness :)

We headed to the riverwalk after the Alamo
(as noted before, I'll make a seperate post with the riverwakl photos).
And after that, it was time to head to Lulu's for a giant cinnamon roll
(you'll have to wait for another day's post to see those photos, too!)
Here's Nathan and his Aunt walking downtown on the
search for our van.

On the way, Mary was held up by a gun toting statue of Toribio Losoya - apparently one of the defenders of the Alamo. He's positioned on Losoya Street - hmm... wonder who that street was named after ;-) Thankfully he didn't shoot my sister!

I'll post more photos in the days to come from
our other antics downtown and visit with Auntie M.
